About Leonel

Leonel A. Gonzalez Corona is a UX Designer and design leader at IBM who helps teams turn complex, high-stakes problems into clear direction—and buildable, scalable experiences. He operates at the intersection of UX strategy, facilitation, and product craft, aligning stakeholders quickly, clarifying priorities, and driving outcomes that improve usability, adoption, and consistency across platforms.

He’s a decisive facilitator and operator. Leonel has led executive strategy workshops using Enterprise Design Thinking, contributed to multi-year roadmap direction, and helped badge and develop 55+ practitioners by coaching teams to apply design thinking in real delivery environments—not just whiteboard sessions. His strength is turning ambiguity into momentum: crisp narratives, practical artifacts, and design decisions that teams can ship.

Beyond product, Leonel is a recognized speaker who delivers practical, culturally grounded sessions on leadership visibility and relationship-driven opportunity creation—helping emerging talent build credibility without performative networking. He has served as a local leader for a Hispanic business resource group and has volunteered as an educator and mentor, teaching coding skills and design thinking to students and early-career professionals.

His work has been recognized across design and leadership spaces, including a Red Dot award for IBM product design and selection as an honored listee in America’s Who’s Who (2025 edition). He is currently preparing the launch of his forthcoming book, Leveraging Your Network: What They Never Taught Us About Getting Ahead, which expands his workshop frameworks into a repeatable, year-long system for building influence and advancing with integrity.
